It is with great regret we have to announce the sudden death of our Sales Manager, Richard Willis.
We are all stunned by the sudden and tragic events that occured on Monday evening (5th February).
Richard was with a number of his colleagues in London for the TPI
Awards. The SSE party was coming down from their rooms for the awards
dinner when Richard collapsed.
Despite frantic attempts to revive him by his colleagues and the emergency services, he died.
All the staff and directors of SSE are deeply shocked and would like to express their condolences to Rich's family and friends.
Richard had worked for SSE since 2003, most recently as Sales Manager and he was well known throughout the industry. We have already received numerous messages of sympathy.
Richard's Funeral - Wednesday 21st February 2007
Rich was laid to rest following a packed service at the Church of Ascension in Kingswinford, Dudley. This was followed by a gathering at the Cat Inn in Enville where more stories were shared about Richard's life and loves.
Rich's family would like to thank everyone who came to pay their respects.
